Optimus sighed as he looked over the human city far below him, Bumblebee silent at his side. The two Transformers were old, their time having passed into the newest generation of Cybertronians, which were slowly rebuilding after the Great War had ended. They had returned to Earth to live out their final days, hidden in plain sight to avoid unwanted attention that was sure to come if they were caught. Tonight though, it was just right to sit back and watch the glittering cities, or the stars that shone above them in a comforting manner. Bumblebee let what humans consider a smile grace his lips, his spark already starting to die out in a peaceful manner. The old scout didn’t mind, he knew soon he would be reunited with the Well of AllSparks and see his old allies once more for eternity. Optimus moved so the younger could get in a more comfortable position, his dulled blue optics looking up at Optimus warmly as his spark finally faded out. Optimus felt his own spark jerk in a moment of grief, his old comrades frame greying slightly as his life force left and floated up out of sight, disappearing in a small flash of light. The Prime took his last look at the human city below them before turning his gaze to the skies, his last thought of his old friends as his own spark finally faded. The Primes spark followed the path Bumblebee’s took, his own frame greying as some of the younger Autobots came forward reverently to gather their bodies for a proper burial. When Prime opened his eyes he felt younger and stronger than he had during his youth, a bit pleased to see himself in his old home on a bright and thriving Cybertron. Cybertronians from all across the war went about their days, many stopping to salute the Prime when he walked by them. Word spread at the speed of light and soon all those who had fought and died beside the Prime were grinning and laughing about old times, almost overwhelming him with seeing familiar old faces and friends long since dead. Once most of the crowd had thinned, Optimus couldn’t help the smile that crossed his face when his optics landed on the four he had survived almost everything with. Ironhide greeted him with a hearty slap on the back, the man looking younger than he had ever seen him. Jazz high fived the Prime, looking cocky as ever as he relaxed against the side of a building. Ratchet was the same as ever, grumbling as the two clasped arms in greeting, Bumblebee grinning as he patted the Prime on his shoulder. To Optimus everything was finally right with the universe, and that the Well was his place to finally rest and enjoy all he had sacrificed for.

This is a great story. It made me sad but it also got me to smile at the end.
